FULL BODY IMAGING: Multi-Modality Approach
We offer complete body scans as screens for early detection of cancer and other significant diseases. Early detection can prevent the development of disease into a life-threatening stage and considerably improve chance of recovery.
At our center, radiologists have developed unique comprehensive protocols utilizing several technologies to address detection of the most common diseases visible with imaging techniques.
We obtain a very comprehensive history identifying your specific risk factors and then tailor the screening protocol to target these potential diseases in addition to the general survey.
The exam includes MRI evaluation of the brain, entire spine, abdomen and pelvis. It is then supplemented with a CT scan of the chest. If necessary, some findings from these modalities are further explored with ultrasound for greater specificity. Such combined modality approach offers the ideal technology-to-anatomy match.
Our radiologists, with 30 years experience in these modalities, then review the findings with you and recommend appropriate follow-up study when needed. This will also serve as a baseline comparison for future studies. You will be given both a technical interpretation of the data for other specialists and a lay report for your review. You will also be furnished with a CD of all acquired images.
Cardiovascular Disease Detection
CT scan is utilized to obtain a calcium score, which is a measure of the amount of atherosclerosis or plaque buildup in the coronary arteries supplying the heart. This evaluates your risk of a heart attack.
Breast Cancer Detection
Digital mammogram is obtained utilizing the standard method. Any suspected abnormality is further explored with additional mammographic views at that time. In addition, possible masses and areas of asymmetry are imaged with breast ultrasound. You then undergo breast examination by the radiologist, who will explain the results and address your present concerns. This means that you will leave with the final results and recommendations based on that visit.
Imaging of Any Body Part
Occasionally your physician or you will want to obtain a radiological study to put your mind at ease.
